Building Roads to Deliver Food
in Ethiopia

The United Nations is earmarking millions of dollars for road-work in Ethiopia to get food and supplies to millions of people there. One of the hardest hit areas is Gode, a town 300 miles southeast of the capital Addis Ababa. European aid organizations are urging countries worldwide to step up Ethiopian relief efforts to avoid a famine like the one 16 years ago that killed hundreds of thousands of people.
